About Spirit Beasts

Spirit beasts are exotic pets and only hunter with the Beast Mastery talent may tame them. Be warned; simply being Beast Mastery does not guarantee you one of these rare and beautiful pets. Not only are they contested but each pet comes with a different taming twist; be it a very time consuming hunt to find them or a unique taming challenge when you finally do, Spirit Beasts are among the most desired and deadly beasts in all of Azeroth. Spirit beasts posses 3 special abilities; Spirit Beast Blessing, Spirit Mend and Spirit Walk which makes them a truly unique pet to have and an outstanding PvP partner.

Preparing your Hunt

Before you begin to camp out or seek any spirit I recommended never going on a journey to find any npc without NPC Scan! (Download NPC Scan & NPCSCAN Overlay) NPC Scan will show you color coded spawn points of each beast on your map and minimap so you can seek the pet directly where it will spawn and when it does NPC Scan will send of an alert so you don’t miss your beloved pet-to-be. Below you can find a guide to the NPC Scan cache (it is important as you won’t get alerts if pets are cached!)  You can also use Targeting Macros by manually adding a macro whilst in game. Simply open up your Macro confic and set up something like this:

 

    /ClearTarget

   /Target Loque'Nahak

 

Then simply assign your macro to a key or button and every time you press it the macro will attempt to target the NPC, if the NPC is in range the macro will target them. Also remember to have track beasts ticked on your mini map tracking! You can also apply multiple names to the target list, take for example if whilst also hunting down Loque you were hoping to find King Crush.

As shown in the map above Loque has 7 different spawn locations spread around Sholozar Basin, from records he appears to favour the spots near the white Gorilla npc’s to the east and the spawn point right next to Skyreach pillar. You can choose to sit at one spawn point but I recommended you fly around each spawn point, this can get boring but it increases your chances of finding him.Respawn TimeFrom records Loque can respawn anywhere between 3-10 hours, it has been agreed upon by many that he is only up for 10 minutes before de-spawning again, this would explain his rarity but may not be true. It is also rumoured that he can only spawn at xx:10 xx:30 and xx:40 past any hour, so you can choose to fly around the spawn points at those intervals each hour (I did this and found success).

 

 

Taming Method

He is the first spirit beast so has no advanced tactics and requires no special preparation to tame, simply place a freezing between him and yourself and hit that tame button for an easy tame. Happy Taming!
